Visiting any church for the very first time can be a awkward experience.

 

    Questions often arise...

           Where to go?      What to wear?     What time should I show up? 

                  What is here for my children?        What can I expect?

 

   Here are a few answers to some questions, about what you might 

          expect on your first visit to Cornerstone Baptist Church?

 

  We desire to make your first visit to Cornerstone Baptist Church a refreshing,

      friendly, andenjoyable for your whole family.

Where is Cornerstone located?

          We worship each Sunday in

             The Oakville Academy for the Arts

                               located at

          1011 Upper Middle Road East in Oakville

Where can I park?

    Parking spaces can be found around with ease around the

      Oakville Academy for the Arts facilty

 

What time do your services begin?

    10:45 AM

        and we also invite you to join us for our Family Bible Hour

           every Sunday evening @ 6:00 PM***

What is at Cornerstone for my children?

    At every service, we provide a safe, staffed nursery for children under 2. 

 

    During each service there are Bible classes for children where they hear a 

      teaching lesson directly applicable to their appropriate stage in life.

 

    For children two years old through sixth grade we offer fun, friendly,

     and Bible-centred classes.

 

    We desire to make church an exciting and memorable experience 

      for your child.  (visit the ministries page for a more information )

 

   Teens are welcome to attend our worship service hour with their parents.

 

What takes place on Sundays for adults?

   Most adults attend our Sunday worship service where they enjoy the 

    beautiful and inspiring music of our children's choir, instrumentalists, a

    singing group, or different soloists.

 

   The music is always followed by a clear, helpful, and challenging Bible

     message from Pastor Howard.  

 

   You will find our service is a little over one hour in length.

 

How will know what to do in the worship services?

        Our worship service schedule is listed in the weekly bulletin that you will

          recieve from a member of our Hospitality Team. 

 

        We believe you find our order of service will be very easy to understand

 

Will I have to make it know publically that I am a visitor?

         No, because we want you to enjoy your visit with us.

 

         You may not be recognized as a regular attendee by a member of our

           hospitality team.  They may offer you our visitor's packet and one of our 

            welcome cards.  It would be appreciated if you can complete this card.

 

         Although it is not required, we would encourage you to complete this card. 

           We want you know who you are so that we may send you a 'Thank You'

           letter with more information about our church.  If you should request

           prayer or a pastoral visit you are welcome to make note of this of this

           on your card.  We would also like to accomodate these needs.

 

How should I dress for a service at Cornerstone?

         There is not a dress code at Cornerstone for members or our guests.

 

        You will find the leaders of ministries and many of our church family dress in

         more traditional “Sunday” dress; however, our main goal is that you would

         feel welcome and comfortable on your visit here at Cornerstone!

 

Am I expected to participate in the offering

        No. We don't invite you to our church for your offering. We want our service 

         to be our gift to you. We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit,

         truth from God's Word, and a place where you can grow in God's grace.

 

        Please don't feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest

 

Are there services at other times?

        Yes. We have a Sunday evening service (Family Bible Hour) which begins

          at 6:00 p.m*** and is guaranted ALWAYS to be finished in one hour.

        In this service, you will enjoy a challenging and helpful Bible message

          from Pastor Howard. 

 

        If you are unable to be our guest on Sunday morning, we would enjoy

         meeting you on your visit with us during another service time!

 

Do you have time for fellowship every Sunday?

        Yes, we enoy fellowship and refreshments following our morning service. 

 

        This is a fun informal time, where you can enjoy conversation over a cup of

         coffee, a glass of juice, and have a snack. This is the best way to get to

         know the people at the Cornerstone Baptist Church.
